A large clay bowl is a practical for large-scale kitchen work or serving food on a plate. Can also be used in the oven for cooking or heating. As an added value, at the end of the description we also offer an interesting tip for using two large bowls for baking in the oven.

The edge of the bowl is decorated with an abstract pattern created in the sgraffito technique. It is made up of deep cuts made in the clay body. By removing the anchor covering the surface at the cut, they reveal a white clay body. Each cut is unique. In creating the pattern, an exciting overseas technique is combined with an atmosphere inspired by local nature and the environment. It can be related to the clouds floating above Lake Peipus as well as to the waves of the lake.

Peipus land also has deep roots in the manufacture of ceramics. In the selection of raw materials, tradition is intertwined with the practical need for high quality. The bowl is turned potter’s wheel of high heat clay produced in Germany with low fireclay content. It is a clay specially developed for ceramics that can withstand burning at very high temperatures. Burned at 1220 C in an electric oven. This gives the ceramics good resistance to breakage so that the product can withstand more intensive use.

Thanks to the increased durability, the daily maintenance of the bowl is easy – it can be washed in the dishwasher, just like any other kitchen utensil. This will save you a little more time for yourself.

Interesting tip: two large bowls can be used, for example, to bake juicy bread. The two bowls can be placed on top of each other, the bread dough between them and baked in the oven. Bread can be soft and fluffy. The upper bowl prevents moisture from evaporating, so the bread does not dry in the oven. At the same time, the gap left when assembling the bowls allows some air to move and does not completely close the cooking space. This trick is somewhat similar to the dutch-owen baking style, but is still based on the local popular tradition of oven-baked dishes, which allows you to bring a bit of a close-to-nature rural touch even to a city apartment.
